One day cycling tour through Siem Reap with the tour guide

The real Cambodian adventure begins with Eco-trails!

Day 1

Svakum Pee Kampuchjea! Welcome to Cambodia. After your breakfast our local guide will meet you at your hotel with your bikes.

We will begin cycling to visit Wat Thmei which contains a unique glass-walled stupa, containing the bones of victims of the Khmer Rouge.

On the way we will stop at the war museum to see a wide variety of military hardware and equipment in decrepit condition, recovered from the battlefield. On display there are heavy armor including T-54 tanks, anti-aircraft guns, artillery pieces, rocket launchers, APCs, small arms and piles of disarmed mines, bombs and small arms. Most of the larger pieces are labeled.

From there, we will cycle through the local community out to the rice fields and we will have the opportunity to see the daily life in a typical Cambodian village. This tour includes a visit to a local home, belonging to a family which runs a small business of making scarves. We will enjoy a nice lunch and after a short break we will continue our journey admiring the pictoresque countryside.

Later in the afternoon we will get to the local pagoda where we can get a water blessing from a monk who survived the whole period of the Khmer Rouge regime.

On the way back, we will visit the Artisan D’Angkor to learn about the processes needed for making stone carving and painting.

Cycle back to the hotel and following a short rest we will be heading for a sumptuous local dinner. After your dinner we will go to explore a busy local market with plenty of bargaining and souvenir shopping.

Meals included: lunch, dinner
