Day 1

Our Eco-Trails.Asia representative will meet you at the airport and you will be transferred to hotel. You can enjoy a leisure time at the swimming pool after your flight.

In the late afternoon, we will cycle over quiet roads to Angkor Thom – the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire under the reign of Jayavarman VII in the 12th century. We will approach Angkor Thom through the south gate and continue on the bikes along the wall to the west and continue the journey to the Bayon Temple – a Buddhist temple built in around 1190 in the city’s center. Here, you will have the opportunity to admire its enigmatic smiling faces of Avalokiteshvara and visit the Terrace of the Elephants as well as the Terrace of the Leper King.

We will continue the Phnom Bakheng, a Hindu temple in the form of a temple mountain. Dedicated to Shiva, it was built at the end of the 9th century, during the reign of King Yasovarman (889–910). We will explore around and wait for the sunset over the countryside and Siem Reap town. We will cycle back to Siem Reap at a leisurely pace. Dinner at a local restaurant in town.

Day 2

This day will include a 50km ride. After breakfast at your hotel, we will cycle along the Siem Reap River to reach the temple of the Rolous Group, the site is an ancient center of Khmer civilization known as Hariharalaya. Then we will continue to the dock to take a boat ride to visit the Kompong Pluk village which is part of the fresh water Tonle Sap Lake. We will enjoy lunch at a floating restaurant on the Tonle Sap Lake.

After visiting the village the boat will take us back to the dock to pick up the bikes. On the way back we will visit the Pre-Angkorian Temples including Preak Ko, Bakong and Lo Lei. There we will see Kravan Temple, Banteay Kdei, and stop at the famous Ta Promh, embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers. a fascinating temple that has been reclaimed by nature and resembles the set of an Indiana Jones film!

Day 3

After breakfast we will visit the Silk farm where we will see the traditional way of weaving and colouring of this traditional material. You will be able to purchase the products. On the way to the Killing Field we shall stop for lunch in a local restaurant. On the way back you will be transferred to the airport to catch your onward flight.
